Mark Bruso is an experienced trainer and instructor with over 34 years in the law enforcement field. Mark’s knowledge, skills and story-telling ability on the topics of risk assessment, risk management along with the execution of high-risk operations make him a favorite in the classroom.
Mark is a retired Supervisory Special Agent with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). He has over 21 years of service in the DEA and an additional 12 years’ experience as a local police officer.
During his tenure, Mark has worked in high stress environments such as the Los Angeles, CA Field Division and the Special Operations Division (SOD), which focused on working in foreign environments that have little to no support or resources. He also completed a tour as Staff Instructor at the DEA Training Academy and served as an operator and instructor for DEA’s Tactical Team, the Miami Special Response Team (SRT).
While assigned at the academy, Mark trained new DEA recruits, active-duty agents in the field, and members of foreign law enforcement agencies who were assigned as Special Investigative Units (SIU) attached to the US government while overseas.
Through this training and worldwide experience, Mark has gained a distinctive practical knowledge into the mindset of human performance, as seen through the eyes of someone with over three decades of field experience in the law enforcement community.
Mark found his passion for teaching early in his career and has expanded on his knowledge base through a variety of assignments and professional experiences, giving him worldwide access to teaching both foreign and domestic students.
